Charlotte Higgins
Charlotte Higgins (born 1972) is a British writer and journalist.
Higgins was born in Stoke-on-Trent, the daughter of a doctor and a nurse, and received her secondary education at a local independent school. A family holiday in Crete and an influential schoolteacher awakened her interest in classical languages and culture,〔 and she studied Classics at Balliol College, Oxford.
Higgins is a blogger and ''The Guardians chief arts writer. Formerly the paper's arts correspondent and classical music editor, she has a particular interest in contemporary music.
She has published a book on Ovid called ''Latin Love Lessons'', and a book on ancient Greece, ''It's All Greek To Me''. ''Under Another Sky'' (2013), about journeys in Roman Britain, was shortlisted for the Samuel Johnson Prize,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.thesamueljohnsonprize.co.uk/sjnav/books/62/15 )〕 and the Hessell-Tiltman Prize.
